Has anyone here wrapped their 993?

Without a doubt, waxing a wrap would help its longevity. Using a good wax like Rejex that helps prevent UV damage (and also conditions vinyl parts nicely) would make a huge difference in not only the weather resistance, but also the ability to remove road debris/asphalt/rubber/bugs. It is super easy to wax matte vinyl, though.
The only color I wouldn't wax (and wouldn't install on any car, period) is the "super matte" black. That stuff scuffs so easily!

I think that the matte helps bring out the curves, because the light reflects less/more depending on what angle you are seeing it from, creating a smooth texture, like it was carved and buffed from rock, but it buffed out matte. Hehe
It would suck if someone keyed your car, and it ripped open the vinyl

i haven't seen too many wraps here in CO, mainly at auto shows... they were not done as well as you would expected... its the corners and small areas with crazy bends where it tends to look bad... interesting way to get a different color without full commit...

Agreed, haven't seen enough to judge quality. Total price of wrap was $1600. Not a bad way to try out signal green or blood orange.

We've heard 3500.00. I'd love to try something like that and make our 993 Dolphin Gray ((like our '87 was <a 356 color>)) or Fjord Green ((another 356 color)).

I had my 997 race car wrapped. Never did a 993 but imagine it would be similar.
The cost was roughly $4k and I was told it would last about 5 years but track use will eat up the wrap faster. The nice thing is you can simply replace sections of the wrap that need to be replaced.
I didn't have any issues with bubbles but it was noticeable around tight openings such as the front bumper of my GT3. Basically it is a stretchable tape so think about how tape may look around small, curvy, areas.
Most race cars are wrapped which allows them to change the livery depending on sponsors for a given race etc.
