I use the Mobil 1 version, and it doesn't seem to cause a problem.

I've always used 20/50 for the past 3 yrs of ownership without issue. When the cooler/colder temps arrive switch out to a 10/40 or similar.

Works great for me--no issues.

However, a search will result in LOTSA conversation on the subject of oily opinions.

Always use 15w-50.

The car is in storage in the Winter when the temps drop down low.

My indy told me to switch (from Mobil 1) to MOTUL (15W50).

That was over a year ago. No issues.

I noticed, from the get-go, as soon as I drove it (late summer), that the car ran very 'quiet' - and, yes, that includes the lifters. Even during the winter (and we had a REALLY nasty COLD winter here in NY!), the lifters were very quiet (on initial start-up when you would expect them to clatter a bit with 'cold' oil.)

It also hasn't burned a friggin' drop either ...in 5,000+ miles), with no leaks.

Some say this oil doesn't hold its "shear" capabilities for long periods of time and that, whilst it's a good quality oil, you should change it more frequently than, say, Mobil 1.
(This could be an old wive's tale.)

Summary: From one who uses it ...no complaints whatsoever.

CHECK THE MANUAL!!! It tells you what oil to run at depending on what is the outside temperature.

There is a difference if you're in New York during the winter vs. in Texas during the summer.

Motul 300v should definitely be changed more frequently. it is very shear resistant, but doesn't hold up well to the contaminants that can build up in the oil.

3k miles, maybe 4k at most
