Default throttle stuck 4000 RPM

Did a Oil Pressure sensor swap. Worked out good, sensor worked. When putting the car back together no issues.
Car is clear and free to go. Fire up the engine and ...
car runs at 4000 RPM. Any ideas what is happening ?

Did you take the inlet manifold off? I would guess that if you did the accelerator cable is not routed properly. Does the pedal (engine off) depress okay?

Its where i'd start assuming you took it off or lifted it at all.

Cable installed properly. The DME readings show open and closed position of throttle/pedal to be correct. MAT installed the correct way.
Smoke test shows no leaks in anything after the throttle body. Engines fires up fine but idle is now at 4000 RPM.

Did you have the cruise control linkage off. If you tap the pedal with your foot does it release? I had a similar issue with my throttle getting stuck around 4K rpms. The linkage for the cruise controll popped off and was binding up the throttle at times.

Indeed the Cruise Control Linkage is the culprit. Somehow snagged when mounting the engine back into the frame. So removed cable.
Cruise control and 993 cars are not to be together in the same car. Will reattach at a later date. Wanna drive this weekend first and foremost !

Thank you

I just had the same problem. Engine would idle at about 5000 rpm after a full throttle run. The retainer clip for the cruise control had come loose during my engine install. The throttle wouldn't close all the way. I removed the blower fan and was able to get my hand back there and push the clip back in. Problem solved.
