Default Monterey Week restaurants?

I just logged on to Open Table to see what available and it looks like quite a few restaurants have good availability. Any ideas? I've been to a few local spots over the years but I'd like to see what else is decent.

So far I think we'll try:

Montrio Bistro
Restaurant 1833
Cannery Row Brewing Company
Tarpy's Roadhouse

Feedback please...

Are you looking for a restaurant for a large group, or just for a few people?
The Dametra Cafe is very very good for a smaller group.
Katy's Place is great for breakfast and the Baja Cantina is a must-do when you are in the area.

Off topic, but is there a thread for "Things to Do" at the historics this year? If not I will start a seperate thread to keep this one on-topic.

+1 Chart House.

We went there last year and had a great meal. Their chocolate lava cake is a fantastic ending to dinner.

We also went to Fresh Cream and Il Fornaio. Overall, (we were there with another couple), the wives liked both of these restaurants a lot. I don't remember them being the best meals I've had but they were good.

We also enjoyed Roy's at Pebble Beach. Great food, and their parking lot was filled with lots of great cars, especially the valet section (a few Ferraris, Maseratis, Astons, a Bugatti Veyron, MB McLaren SLR, and a 1970s MB 600 limo).

Also, the Hyatt in Carmel has a restaurant and the food is good and the view is amazing.

Not on your list but

Vivolo's in Pacific Grove is outstanding, have the Clam Chowder

also Baja Cantina is a must, I expect it will be outrageously crowded, always is with car/motorcycle event in town as it is race themed.

And since you are in the area: Chateau Julien Winery is right down the road from the Baja Cantina.

This Historics week, or Rennsport Reunion week?

(I may be tied up with a guy bringing any/all of IROC RSR/935/962, so there may have gone my ability to organize the dinner/whatever for Rennsport week.)

If you have the time and inclination to go a bit further afield (and have a great drive) go down to Nepenthe in Big Sur. Yes, it's a flashback to the 60's but sitting on their terrace while taking in a spectacular view, eating an ambrosia burger and drinking the beverage of your choice isn't going to be all that bad.

I'm wondering if going too far from Monterey and parking a bunch of Porsches outside a trendy restaurant won't end up being a “CHP magnet" (pun intended) leading to a DUI check point a mile down the road.
