Default New 993 C4S

I've been searching for a 993 C4S for several months, I finally located the perfect car 3 hours away in PA.

It is a stock 1997, 1 owner car w/ 32.000 miles, it was bought, serviced (every record) and then traded in at the same dealership where I found it.

We drove out and I traded in my 1990 C2 Cabrio 52k, The ride home was amazing and I haven't been able to wipe the grin off my face since!

Here's a few pics

The question is about re-finishing the red calipers, the finish has been damaged and is now flat instead of glossy on three of the four calipers.

Beautiful! You traded in a beauty as well. Did they give you a good trade in value?

looks great, congratulations!

13 months and 12K miles later, I still have that grin. Every gear change, and throttle dip is a true pleasure.

Now....onto the mods!

Get a can of high temp clear coat from a local auto parts store. Take the wheels off and clean the calipers well then spray it on. They'll look as good as new.

Yes, the 964 is a sweetie, I was the second owner, bought it from a friend, always dealer serviced. I'm sure the dealer I sold it to will have no problem flipping it for a few bucks. I got 25k for the 964 at trade in.........very close to what I paid for the car 9 years ago.

The only problem was timing, my wife and daughter had surprised me for Fathers day by having a very nice Nakamichi stereo w/ 500w amp and new speakers installed a couple of weeks ago.............we enjoyed it for a few days before I found the C4S online.

WOW! Very nice find. Factory aero kit? That's a +$7,000 option back-in-the-day.

may be a touchy subject, but can you share how much you paid for it (worth every penny i'm sure!)? all of us rennlister would love to see the resale value of our cars. congrats, that's definitely a keeper.

Here's my guess:

A one owner, '97 with 32,000 miles. I bet the prior owner got about $40-42K on trade value, and the dealership flipped it for $48-52. But I bet the dealership was asking mid to high $50's.

54,500 for the C4S - 25,000 for the 964 + title fees = +/- 30k cash
