Which lube to re-assemble calipers?
I'm about to embark upon a marathon brake caliper rebuilding spree. After months of messing around with my stock calipers, I finally bead-blasted each one and had them powdercoated red (RAL 3020 or RAL 3001 - I forgot), followed by clear powdercoat. I already have the full Brembo rebuild kits from Porsche, as well as a tube of ATE 'Plastilube'. Each of the Brembo kits came with a small packet of Klüber Lubrication grease.
Is one preferred over the other? If so, why?
At some point, I'll start a new thread with pics showing the calipers in their various stages of refinishing. For now, these will need to suffice:

Andreas that is **** HOT. I would like to do the same thing to mine. Where did you send the calipers for refinish? How did you apply the script?
For lube - since Brembo built the calipers and are supplying the parts, I'd go with the Brembo stuff. They know a thing or two about brakes.

I purchased stencils and decals for the calipers, but none were the exact size of the original letters. So I had a batch of decals made locally - to the correct size.

Andreas - looks wicked! I'm currently in the middle of my suspension upgrade and have caught a very bad case of the "while I'm in theres". I've removed my calipers and I'm going to have them bead blasted along with my control arms (so I can then install the walrod bushings). I bought the rebuild kits that 600RR was selling on here a couple of months ago - I figured on just using the lube that came with it - but I'm waiting to see the answers you get - very timely! I've also had a hard time finding the proper sized decals - do you have any extra you'd like to sell?

I'd go with the Brembo lube. That's what I used on mine too. Another tip: If you have any tolerance issues with the piston boots having enough room because of the powdercoat and you need to remove some of the paint - or if the guy got a small amount of paint inside the walls - then I highly recommend a product called: Aircraft Remover made by Klean Strip. Use a Q-tip dipped in the solution and the paint comes off easily.

One caliper down, three to go. I opted to use the lube supplied by Brembo with the rebuild kits (piston/bore seal/dust seal).
I would caution you to be very careful bead blasting the calipers. The piston bores need to remain absolutely untouched. You may be successful blasting the finish off with the old pistons & seals in place - I decided to make things harder for myself. After stripping the calipers of seals & pistons, I purchased tapered rubber plugs for each bore (16) and then fashioned a threaded 'spreader' to keep the plugs snuggly in place. I also purchased bolts to keep the bleed nipple & supply holes sealed while blasting.
I'm not sure you'd ever find the correct-sized decals already available. Since I had more than I needed made, I'd be happy to send a set to you - just shoot me a PM.
Pics of first complete caliper and fistfuls of 993 hardware that I sent out for yellow zinc dichromate plating.
