Default Clutch Judder

Hi

I've just noticed this morning a low frequency judder on the clutch in 1st and reverse gear, the clutch plate is about 30k miles old and is a RS plate and LW flywheel. The car has 110,000 miles on the original engine mounts, the RMS was changed at the same time as the clutch (30K) any ideas any one?

Thanks

Ash

I get what I think is what your talking about...in reverse only. Really only when the car is backed down the driveway for the first time.

After the car is driven for any distance, it seems to go away.

I have the stock DMFW set up, changed about 26K ago...IIRC, car now has
76K. My mechanic was not worried about it.

Doesen't mean that yours isn't about to explode at any minute though.

Interested to what others think

I have the same problem in first and reverse. My 95 cab has 100k on it, original DMFW, 2nd clutch with 50K on it. I need a new clutch and my RMS is leaking.

oil on the disc will do this... and it will be noticed when starting from a stop in reverse or first.
RMS is likely the issue, sorry.

At 30K miles on a clutch, that is a bummer.
It is always a good idea to replace the RMS (and a host of low cost items) when doing a clutch job

Thanks for the replies Gents.

And Mark, I did have the RMS replaced when I did the clutch so I do hope it's not that.........

My suspicion is that the motor mounts are shot certainly one has a large gap, currently working so don't have time to take it to JZM

Thanks again for all the responses

ah, well that is a definite possibility! And much less painful in many ways

Thanks Darin, my RMS has been leaking for sure. This helps explain it! Shutter/jutter solved for me!
