Default C4S tire sizes? largest possible?

what are the maximum sizes for the C4S that you folks are using?

I ask because i have a good stash of 245's and 315's from my 18" porsche 997 track wheels... Any chance of them fitting?

I use 255x30x19 and 315x25x19 without any rubbing issues. Rufus has a non-agressive camber, and the fender lips are NOT rolled.

How about the difference in diameter between fromt and rear? This is always something to consider for the AWD cars when it comes to "fit". if you know the tire brand and model, you can check on the manufacturers website.

I just found that the Yokohama AD08 in 225/40/18 and 295/30/18 are almost a perfect match which made me choosing them. However, I would like a little bit more width in the front to compensate for understeer.

i've used 245 - 40 and 315-30 mounted on 996 Turbo wheels.
~ -1.5 degrees camber front and back
a little above RS ride height.

fit is TIGHT but no rubbing after a few AX.
It still worried me, so i switched to 245 - 35 fronts

cgfen, how come you wanted such a tall tire in the front? oem replacement up sizing would be 245/35/18, like what you are using now.

i wanted to run 255 and 295, perfect match in OD but settled on 245/285. 315 is a lot of tire; not sure a NA 993 needs that much grip or the power to turn it.

thanks for the great info folks!

my 997 RS uses the 245/18 front PS2 and 315/18 rear PS2 on track wheels. (these are my targa rally tires.)
Since i only use the tires for 5 days in a rally and then shelf em' , they are great to burn off on a street car DD such as my 993 C4S.
I have 2 sets!
Plus i also have a set of 245/18 and 305/18 toyo 888 tires to burn as well.

cost sharing feels sooo good

i didn't "want" 245 - 40's, i just got a smoking deal on a set of lightly used NT01s in that size and tried them. <thanks Chris!>
I like the 245 - 35 option much better.

i typically now run
245 - 35 and 295 - 30.

cheers

Craig,

Perhaps I missed it. Please post the tires sizes 'complete' with the section ratio so we can help figure out if they will work on an AWD car. Also, what are the rim widths they will go on.

Hi
i typically use 996 Turbo wheels, 8" front and 11" rear.
I have had good success with;
295-35 X 18 / 235-40 X 18
295-30 X 18 / 235-40 X 18
and
295-30 X 18 / 245-35 X 18

combinations.

these setups vary from 1% to 3.2% rolling diameter differential.

cheers

Craig

265x35 is too wide for an 8" wheel. Plus you may have some clearance issues with your fenders.
