Yep, saw the post, but you seemed to be having a tough time finding the buttons...
thought you said a/c wouldn't work w/o the button...hence not really "working fine".
Anyway just trying to help.

Sorry i didn't make myself clear; simply put, the buttons are NLA and no one has them.
The a/c will not work without the buttons as far as i can tell, that means no ones ac will work without the buttons, including yours and mine.
Now, although my buttons are not in the best of shape [see my first photo], they still turn the a/c off and on.
i was trying to plan ahead and obtain a couple of spares for the time when one or both disintegrate and will no longer turn on the ac. One already has a tendency to spring out of the module.
I really do appreciate your help in this matter.

Starting 2 years ago my AC button became flimsy too. And our local mechanics simply recommended leaving it in the on position for the entire summer--then leaving it in the off position for the whole winter. We can do so because even if the AC button is left in the on position, we can still use the fan switch to turn off (or on) the AC compressor. (It takes both AC button and fan switch in on position for the compressor to start working.)

You are right - that is an alternative, excellent point - thanks.
I don't suppose there are any suitable buttons in Taiwan....................?

x50type, situation in Taiwan is exactly the same as yours. If I want it fixed, I would need to spend $1,800 to buy the whole module. So I simply push it on once in May then push it off once in November, as the mechanics said.

No need for a new CC module!
I pulled out the climate control module from my 993 [not difficult], removed the front assembly with circuit board and got to the double a/c switch.
The switch can be dis-assembled rather like the window lift switches. It has some extremely small bits in there, for example the 4 small springs shown in the photo are about 2 mm diameter x 7 mm long and there is a tiny white plastic latch piece about 1 mm x 3 mm. [losing any of these bits would be disastrous].
I carefully cleaned the parts and re-assembled them.
One switch buttons still wouldn't stay in place but a dab or two of super glue fixed that.
Now both ac switches and the ac work great.
These are Hella switches and although they are not available from Porsche, they may still be available from Hella.
The double switch at the other end of the climate control module appears to be the same Hella switch.
Incidentally, it appears the single ac switch for the 944 and 964 ac module, which is till available, would probably work too, it's also made by Hella and has the same pin connectors on the back side.

FYI - the moving part of the switch is the black rectangular piece [there are 2, one for the upper button and one for the lower button, I only show one] shown on the right of the photo.
This is moved in by the plastic button your finger pushes. The moving contacts are the bar bells which fit into a groove at the side of the rectangular bit. The tiny springs drop into horizontal holes in the rectangular bit and push out the bar bells.
Warning. These bits are very, very small, so if you drop one of the pieces you may never find it again!

One of my a/c buttons also would "spring off" from time to time. I used some superglue to glue it back on. You have to be careful and just get the glue on the little plastic struts that are on the back side of the button. But mine has stayed in place, now, for over 2 years.

I'm not seeing the pics here, but found this link that has some pictures of how to remove the CCU and also what it takes to get the switch out. I need a new switch too. Maybe i will get brave and try to open mine up to clean it out too.

Maybe posting a WTB non-functioning ccu will yield some results. (Here and Pelican); if all you're needing the button portion only.
I think it really sucks that a plug in bottom module is not sold separately!

I purchased a couple buttons from Shapeways (I think) that were designed by a fellow Rennlister. A few bucks apiece, they look like they'll work though I've not installed them yet. Do a search for 3 D printing projects and I think you'll find them; if not I can probably find the link.
