problem is if it doesn't work, you can't reverse it.
sounds like a potentially expensive experiment.

 

Here's a thought: go to your nearby professional photo shop and ask for some ND (neutral density) filter material, I think it comes in 4"X4" material, and you can get various densities, so to make it darker! I had to film a Solar Eclipse some years ago and that's what I used.

It would be a cheap fix, just cut the material down to your size... hope this helps!

I have the same Alpine unit as Adam. Overall it works fine, and I think the big dial in the center keeps the round dial theme of the 911.

I didn't see the Parrot unit prior to purchasing the Alpine, but I wish I had.

I have the Alpine CDA-9886 in my 95' biggest gripe is the glare is awful... the display is totally useless in the sunlight from the drivers side. sound and features I have added are a different story...
