Wink Best Spark Plugs for 993

Hi Everyone,

My 95 993 c2 blk on blk is ready for new plugs. I have 71K on it now and owned for 8 years.

Time to repalce the plugs. I have been looking for plugs and most of the local stores are trying to sell me Bosch plugs as OEM but dont describe them as platinum etc. Looks like Bosch has a lot better plug technology since 1995.

Anyone gone with the newer technology plugs from Bosch or another manufacturer?

Much thanks.

JMHO,......

Bosch FR5DTC are the best plugs for these engines.

Newer is oftentimes worse than older stuff,.....

You have to specify Bosch when you order. OEM was both Bosch and Beru. Consensus is that Bosch is the better plug, but if you don't specify it then it's a coin flip on what you get.

Reviving a very old thread. About to change my plugs. I bought some Bosch FR5DTC plugs. The plugs say they are pre-gapped to .8mm from the factory. Porsche specs call for .7mm. Is this a problem or do I just ignore it?

Please do a Google search on, Bosch FR5DTC!

I bought a set of 12 for less than $3 each a little over a year ago. Here they are for $3.41 each

Got it. Upon doing the math .1mm is only 4 thousands of an inch. I had to order a set of 10 + 2 singles. The set of 10 was made in Russia and the singles were made in China.

I would check the gaps before installing. I've seen variances. Also, it takes about 20 seconds.
