Default Where to hide a key?

I traded my 993 to a friend to use his Tundra to pick up yet another motorcycle. I'll update my sig. soon. Anyway, while he was using it the battery in the damn immobilizer thingy on the key ring goes dead. If I had a key with fresh battery hidden some where on the car it would have made the last few hrs. of both of ours lives way better. Any suggestions? Thanks to all.. Chris

Default Hide a key?

Why not hide a battery for the key chain in the car?

I keep a spare battery and a small screwdriver in the glove box, but maybe I don't understand the issue?

Sound like OP didn't realize you can still unlock the door with a key. Then open the glovebox/trunk, grab the spare battery & small screwdriver (that most of us keep there for this exact moment), replace the battery in the key fob, and go back to life as usual.

The 95's all have a keyhole on the door so that would work right? What about the 96 n up with the immobilizer? I thought they don't have keyholes in the door?

What kjr914 says.
Except be prepared to pop open the trunk and disconnect the car battery in order to stop the alarm horn and flashing lights.
I don't think its such a good idea to leave a spare key/battery in a car that you can't open with the key without setting off the alarm.

Been there.

96 do have a key hole, on both doors no less, but most of us have the door plug, so it 'looks' like it does not, but with out the immobilizer off, its all sort of moot, unless you can remember the crazy key sequence.

I don't have a battery of screw driver in the glove box, but will be putting there one this weekend, along with a space DME relay... well you know... just in case ;-)

Just get a small pill vial from your local drug store, put a spare battery in it, then hang on your key ring. I always carry a Leatherman MICRA in my pocket, so the screwdriver is not an issue.
