Default Great Weekend

The wife and I had a great weekend with the 993 and I thought I'd share. It started off with me wanting to go to the Phillies - Pirates game at the new (ish) stadium in Pittsburgh. We decided to go on Friday night. Left home Friday morning for State College, PA for lunch, reminiscing, and to stock up on PSU paraphernalia.

Next, on to Pittsburgh with a scenic drive through western PA. Sailed through until we hit Pittsburgh afternoon traffic. P-car ran perfectly. Oil temp at 1/3 until we hit the city traffic. 45 min to go 8 miles through the Squirrel Hill tunnel. Hit 2/3 oil temp but no higher. Met up with some friends for some pre-game beverages and went to the game. Forgot my camera for this part... Beautiful stadium, great weather, great game except the Phils lost in the bottom of the 12th.

Next morning headed south for lunch and to tour Falling Water. Check out the link for more detail, but it's an amazing Frank Lloyd Wright house. Well worth the time if you're going to be in the area.

There's some great driving in the area, Sugar Loaf Rd. was especially entertaining.

Took the scenic route home through Western Maryland. Put about 650 miles on the P-car without a hiccup. Did acquire quite the bug collection which was cleaned up this morning.

Cheers,

Scott

Cool ride! All the times in Pittsburgh I've never seen the Falling Water.

Fallingwater is one of my faves. Never been there, but I would love to go someday.

Now that is good living! Glad you guys had some fun... The journey in the PCar is (IMHO) often better than the destination!

Very cool pics; I love Fallingwater but have never been (in fact, I was just looking at the Lego version earlier today with my son)

+1 on Fallingwater. I haven't been there since they finished the re-engineering, but I'd like to get back soon.

When I was last there, there was also a tour of Kentuck ****, which was maybe 5mi from FW. It's a smaller private house but makes for a good comparison with FW.

And Sadly, I know that backup into the Sq Hill tunnel all too well... I don't miss that part of living in Pittsburgh.

Sounds like a great trip. Go Phils!
