Default Raced A 997 GT3RS Yesterday

Sorry, couldn't resist again. And since we've flipped over to Saturday everywhere but HI and AK now.............

So here we've got ~175 lbs. of ballast (in the form of the son of the owner of the GT3RS) riding with me. And a camera that moved when I was belting him in. But everything's still visible. Oh, and some rear tires that were absolutely, positively beyond hope.

We're just inside Spec Miata front row times on this lap.

what's with the "dancing" brakelights on that GT3RS? Do they really flash in that eratic frequency, or is it the video/sunlight playing tricks?---old eye's you know here

It has something to do with how the digital camcorder's frame rate reads the LED's flashing (i.e. the human eye can't see the flashing, but the camcorder can).

Yep, certainly not there "in person". This is a 720/60FPS capture. (For the camera geeks, it's the Oregon Scientific I picked up at Costco for $200. The 130 degree camera is quite different looking. You should see the video from Thursday when I just mounted it at the "normal" height I've used for years.)

Just as long as I don't post up a "Raced a (insert Porsche model type) in Chicago" when I'm there in a few days?

Ken, race all you want while you're in Rahmville. I live out in the Rockies now!

BTW, the roads here are a ball without having to race anyone.

Not even renting a car. Get up close and personal with that fine public transit system.
