TPS test procedure?
I'm having suspicions about the TPS on my 968, and since it's the same part as in 993 I figured someone here might be able to give pointers .
I read up WSM but it only advices throttle potentiometer test procedure with the diagnostics tester which I don't have. Is there a way to verify functionality with a volt/ohmmeter like on the older cars?

Dunno about a 968, but on a 993, I would just unplug the connector to the DME (under drivers seat) and stick a volt-meter on the two terminals for the TPS. (see the workshop manuals to figure out which terminals). Then turn the key to "ON" (don't try to start the car) and see what range of voltage you get on the TPS. You should get something like 0.5V closed, to 4.5V when fully open.
Presumably the same process would work for a 968.

Found this with some googling:
-Disconnect plug at DME
-Connect voltmeter between pins 1 and 2
-Ignition on = display approx value 5volt
-Connect meter to pins 1 and 3
-Display voltage approx 0.5volt
-Operate throttle, voltage should now increase to approximately 4.7volt
