Going to go with Bilstein HD's and ROW M033...if you have either that you aren't going to use, let me know!

Did this a few years ago to my c4 cab! Best money I ever spent on a car!! Good luck and just take your time. If it's anything like mine you'll have a few rusty buggers to deal with. Enjoy!!

those 2 things will make a huge difference - there are dozens of other things people do to further improve handling but for street driving the difference with lower springs and quality dampers is amazing.. it all depends on how you use your car and how deep your wallet is!!!!

I just ordered Koni FSD's and ROW MO33's. The Konis are b/o 6 weeks, and the rear springs are 3-5 weeks. But, since my arm is in a cast.....no rush.

It is one of the ways to lower your car.

Better is somewhat subjective. I happen to love my M030/HD set up. For some people it is too harsh. For the track types, it doesn't do the trick.

M030/HD set up will handle better than stock Monroes, which are probably shot by now anyway and M033, but if you have rough roads, it could be uncomfortable on the street.

suggest you ride in a car set up that way first to see if you like it.

BTW, after installing HD/M030s in my car last weekend I was somewhat surprised to see OEM Boge in my June '94 made 993 vs. Monroes I'd expect to see there.

I'm an early '94 build (M718) as well, I've no clue what is in there now.

Whatever is there is... how shall I put it... we compressed mine by hand quite easily and they _did not rebound_. At all. The shafts just stayed in. Very sculpture-like, I might add.

So what I'm saying, whatever's there is far past dead. No surprising for a 17-year old car.

All I'll say here, is that I have done the HD/MO33 install and regretted it.
This can be a harsh combination if you have rough roads.
I have this in london, and its a jarring ride.

Its all a matter of personal taste, but I think the condition of local roads needs to be factored in.

There are a lot of posts regarding the harsh ride with the HD/M033's. So I went with PSS10's and I find the ride to be very good at the low settings.

plus you have the option of turning the dial and firming it up.

My last car was a 911SC with Carrera sways, turbo tie rods, & Bilstein HDs, so my 993 with M030/HDs is actually a little bit softer.

Its all relative.

I'm probably not going to track the 993 seriously, s the dual valving of the Koni FSD is what intrigues me: they are stiff on smooth surfaces, and soften up in the rough stuff. I do enjoy spirited drives in the mountains and back roads, but thes are mostly California roads, with varying degrees of condition. We'll see.
