I have a 95 C2 111000 mi grinding downshift to 1st above a crawl. Clutch drags when starting.Replaced slave ,much improved but still there. No noise or detectable grinding in any other gears.(maybe 1-2 upshift when cold). I have gathered the parts for a new LWF clutch and flywheel.Plus RS motor mounts as it is also sometimes hard to get out of gear on decel. My theory is the engine is moving foreward on sloppy eng mounts and the clutch dragging is agrevating the 2-1 shift grinding. Question for the experts .Will I improve things enough or MUST I get the syncros replaced when apart for the clutch?(adds about $2000-3000) to make any significant improvement?
More than likely improve enough? Or more than likely need syncros? I expect to find rusty splines, perhaps oily disc but would like to avoid trans rebuild.
Funny i have the exact same problem, curious to here some ideas. Hard to pull out of gear on decel and if left in gear while parked it seems "stuck" when pulling it out.
