Default 993 clear turn signal

I am the proud owner of a just acquired 1998 993 C2S.
My 07 Targa 4S has the European clear lights on the side (cool).

Is there a conversion for the US Bumper 993 cars to also get the clear turning lights, or do you have to convert the bumper to Euro specs ?

I see on the internet some turning signals in Clear White, but they all mention Euro bumper only. Either ebay.de or other European sites also specifically mention EU only

Is there a clear US bumper turn signal replacement out there and where can I get it if so ?

Thank you

EC

If memory serves, these can be ordered directly from Porsche in the correct size. I would check with Sunset, since more than once I've seen aftermarket suppliers charging more for original parts than Sunset.

I think the reason they always say Euro only is because the U.S. DOT mandates that front turn signals must be amber. They are probably assuming you'll be using the standard clear/white lamps instead of changing to amber lamps, thus the clear/white lenses would not comply with U.S. regulations as a direct replacement. The fitment on U.S. or ROW bumpers is the same.

US 993s have "bumperettes", Euro cars do not
The turn signal lens/housing is shorter to accomodate them

There is no factory clear lens that fits the US cars (see Dave's coments above re. amber signals).
The common solution is to cut down the euro lenses and seal the cut end
Some retailers sell them already modified

hope that helps!
