Just saw this on craigslist. Looks like it's for a NB car. Not bad as an extra set of wheels and tires for track use. Not sure what condition the MPSC's are in based on the ad. How come the front rims are 7.5" wide????

As we see, DOT code says they were manufactured the 46th week of 2005...that is a bit old for a racing tire, in my humble opinion. Probably hard as a rock! Why would anyone sell something this questionable?
I bought a set of "lightly" used rear RA-1 tires, 7+ years old, hard as a rock. I had forgotten to ask the seller for the DOT code before I bought them. He agreed to take them back but it cost me $100 in freight (Greyhound, next bus out)* to return them. Always get the DOT date, and never buy wheels with tires on them...you must inspect the wheel for welds and repairs. I got suckered into that once too. Wound up throwing away one of the wheels, couldn't be repaired.
Straight and true as a condition of sale is mandatory.....they wheels need to be spun up for run out. In the 3 sets of MY 2002 996 wheels I have purchased, one needed 2 wheels straightened, the other two needed one wheel repaired. In the future, I am going to buy new wheels such as OZ wheels from Tire Rack. No more used wheels for me.
* Greyhound can be cheap, but DON'T specify the next bus out....you pay a premium for this. Send them, "They get there when they get there" mode, much cheaper.

Not that I was considering buying these rims/tires, but it's good to know that I can always depend on the experts on this forum to sniff out anything fishy.

It is my understanding that the OEM twists were manufactured by BBS in Germany. Also, it is my understanding that OEM wheels have the wheel size and offset stamped (pressed into the metal) next to the valve stem. Given that these wheels were made in Italy and have no stamp, I would surmise they are replicas. I have also learned that having a Porsche part number on a product does not signify OEM.
