RP993 am I reading your chart correctly? looks like it call for a 40 offset in the front , but common thinking is to go with the 50 offset.....can you clear this up for me TIA Harry

hello Harry,

it's a bit confusing yes, but i try to explain:

in Germany if you change your wheels on your car which is not factory approved size (width, offset, etc) you need a TÜV approved licence to use it. Big companies (like BBS, Techart, etc) sells their wheels with this documents and you have to keep it in your car. I scanned one page of this paper and posted (the complete doc is over 100 pages. Crazy germans)

regarding this document Techart offers ET40 for the front with TÜV licence. (ET means offset), so in Germany you have to use this version if you would like to avoid trouble with TÜV or even with the police (they have the right to check it and take your plate if there's something illegal)

however the factory offset is 50 at the front, so technicly you don't make any mistake to use this version of Techart wheels.

IMHO Techart had the vision, that the factory front wheel needs a 10mm spacer for better look (maybe better handling, but who knows) and they let their wheel produced (by BBS) inmediatly with a smaller offset, so you can save the extra spacer and save weight and get the better look. (the formula 18 wheel is quite light, similar to the hollow spoke factory wheel's weight)

the story is the same on the rear, but there's no option like on the front.

hope it was clear and i could explained it with my poor english

RP993 Thank You so much for clearing that up , while talking to a supplier here in Calif. who is owned by Techart he was also confused and said they suggested the 40 ET I felt that was wrong as our cars come with ET 50 from the factory and tech art is 1/2 in wider..so once again thank You and your English is perfect...Regards Harry

I look forward to posting some pics on my car, but my car hasn't been delivered to me yet. Hopefully soon.
