Hey guys - no I am not moving back! I just dont drive it often enough - every weekend I manage to put aside 30 mins unless Im taking it out somewhere but other than that.... and with work now getting a little more travel intensive I think we need to go back to 2 cars. So I see a 997 in my near future as a replacement for the Lexus I drive daily right now.

Loved this car to bits - puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it. Someone else needs to experience that also...

Dont worry - I'll never leave the fold completely!

Am I missing something here? If you're considering a 997 for a driver, why not this car? It's too "good" and you'll depreciate it? So you buy an average 997 for $45K, pay $4K in tax............and you're basically at a wash for where you are now. In 3 years, the 997 is worth $35K (if that), but your present car with a few more miles hasn't taken a $10K hit if you care for it at all.

Even if I considered the $12K hit I've taken in the past 6+ years with mine all coming over the past winter with all the driving I did, it was worth it.

Ken - I'd rather daily drive a PDK 997 than this. And I want to get a cab - maybe I'm getting old...?

I'd feel nothing but bad leaving this at the BART station every day - not so much w a 997.

Wow, these cars must hold their value over 8 years. When I bought mine 8 years ago I looked at a 97 C4S with 29K miles for $52k. I found a 96 C4S with 59K instead for $40500 but had to put a new clutch and flywheel in it and tires.

I hope you get it! Sweet looking car.

Ah, now I get it! Sure would be nice to knock it into "D" sometimes when I get stacked up on either side of the tunnel. And what's not to love about a cab?

Even I don't ever put Karen in the 4S, high mileage POS it is and all, to park at the Coliseum BART station!

Funny how having a nice 993 the thought is of stewardship while you own it; a 996/997 is a car to be just driven until it's off to the scrap heap. Like the 914/924/944/928/Boxster, soft top or fixed roof (plus now Cayenne, and soon to be Panamera?)

I believe...and practice the "middle" ground here.

Care for, drive hard, put away wet, clean...repeat
