Phone kit 993 wire diagram
Hello Gents,
I am still looking to hard-wire of my radar detector. I have the old Phone system still installed. No handset anymore though. Is this a good source to get power from for my radar detector? I saw a 75 Amp fuse still in it's position in the fuse box.
Does anyone have the wire diagram of the original installed phone system ?
If I know which one is ground and which one is power on those wires in that bundle that powers the handset module, I am in great shape.
I really don't wanna just guess as the detector is a USD 500,- unit.
Thank you
Eric

Under the front passenger floor pad there is a power booster (?) that was installed for the phone. There is a power line there as well as a ground. The booster is seciured to the floor with velcro. As I recall, there are three wires leading into this unit - the power line, the ground and perhaps the antenna cable (not sure of this last line). I seem to recall the power line had a braided conduit surrounding it.
I have the factory telephone installation booklet and it shows the wires. I'll see if I can post an image of those pages. May take a day or so.

on the panel that holds (held) the phone, there is a toggle switch. Just put a small spade connector on the power lead for your radar detector and put it on the switched side of the toggle. That switch is in turn connected to (ignition) switched power. This lets the RD go on and off as you would expect and in addition if you wish to surreptitiously switch off the RD, just flip the toggle.
