Can OBDII readiness flags be set with normal driving?

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I'll try a few days under 3k (certainly takes a measure of restraint) and then have another look at the flags. If they're not set, I may go out on a drive procedure to try and set them. I'd like to complete the emissions test soon, rather than close to the deadline.
I suppose that it helps during the drive test to bring along an OBD2 reader and watch as the flags set.
Thanks.

Hey, just trying to get my money's worth out of those FD Motorsports Stage 2.5 mufflers!
Damn they sound good.![bowdown](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bowdown.gif)
FYI, I'm sure someone is wondering but the "Stage 2.5" designation is my very own (soon to be) copyrighted designation for Porsche Motorsound Mufflers modified to Stage 2 specs by the FD Boys.

"I suppose that it helps during the drive test to bring along an OBD2 reader and watch as the flags set."
A common mis-understanding made by many, that each monitor gets indicated
as it's completed. All the monitors/readiness codes are only indicated once all
tests for TWO or more trips are fully completed. An OBDII scanner will only
indicate completion of the two continuous monitors prior to completion of all
trips.

An update .... with more questions.
I THINK that I drove the BMW drive cycle twice today - once to work and again on the way home. RPMs stayed under 3k and speed under 60. A stopwatch was used to make sure the time accumulated in each zone was at least the minimum. Stops for traffic and speeds under the range were not counted in the totals.
On arrival home this evening, I used my Durametric scan software to take a reading while the engine was still running. There were no fault codes set. Here is the info regarding OBDII status:
No Warmup Cycle = fail
Warm Up Cycle = pass
Driving Cycle = pass
Trip Completed = pass
System Fault = fail
What do these values mean and what part of the test have I messed up to get these settings?
After shutting down the engine, I took another reading and all values of the above variables were set to "fail".
I'll try another drive cycle tomorrow, but I'm just wondering if there is something I need to do differently this time.

Having fought this for years and gone to the referee more than once with this problem just perform the BMW drive cycle and you'll get to the OBD II promised land unless you you have a component failure. The main thing is to keep it under 60 MPH and 3000 RPM. Do the search on the previous threads on this subject and you can't miss. Just be methodical in your appoach and follow Lorenfb's advise. Can you get there from a daily driving routine? Yes, but it may also take you longer to get there vs. following the BMW drive cycle. Your choice, just depends how you want to spend your time.
