Default Boot cover

I have an OEM windscreen and I thought I would avoid any problems associated with ruining the top when it was used. I noticed some "chaffing" on the outside of the top, so I can only assume that is not true. I bought an aftermarket boot cover. When I looked a the Porsche OEM boot cover from my PET PDF, it has 2 little hooks where the one I bought doesn't. Can someone help me to understand if I need these hooks and where the should be hooked to?

My boot cover has no hooks either. Not sure these are necessary. Really wouldn't want these metal pieces flying near the paint as the cover was being installed.

Best wishes

I have the hooks on my original boot cover and I have no idea what they are for. I always tuck them away. We have the top down a lot each warm driving season and no issues with anything.

I have the metal clips with the RSD option. The clips fasten to "D" rings. The "D" rings are on the RSD. This keeps the part that tucks behind the seat from flapping around. Obviously it is moot if you have rear seats as the boot cover is held in place from being tucked behind the seat backs.

I did have a 89 Cab where the seat backs folded down. There were "D" rings sewn in to the carpet that were on the seat backs.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will not be needing the clips. Now all I need to do is figure out how to install the snaps and some wonderfully engineered "pull snaps" that came with the cover.

Here are the "D" rings I spoke about. These are what's fastened to my RSD and what the clips on your boot cover would clip to
