Default Hard wire Escort 9550ix

Got my 993 on Monday. The cigarette receptacle does not work. The fuse is good. So looking at hard wiring my radar detector (Escort 9550ix) into the fuse box and preferably in to a switchable place, so it turns on/off with ignition.

Speeding is great, but staying ahead of those tickets is also important.

Any of the members willing to share or know of a installation guide on the net ?

Thank you very much

EC

From what I've read, the sunroof switch is the most popular place to hardwire the RD, although some have found that there's not enough voltage available there. Or, you could just repair/replace the cigarette lighter. Do you know how much current is drawn from the RD when it's on? You might be able to tap into any switch-controlled circuit at the fuse panel, such as the radio for instance, as long as enough current is available to keep from blowing the fuse when you turn the ignition on.
