Crazy asking money.

I think I know who MW is. He should come here and tell the rest of the story.

Seller's Description and Comments

VERY RARE 1998 911 C4S (wide body, all wheel drive, turbo brakes & suspension). Stock, in pristine condition. Ebay add#190488073042. Car came out of a collection in Chicago & needs nothing, you may see there is another 98 for sale with 7800 miles & the undesirable "aero kit'' at $82k, that dealer bought a car from me last year, BEWARE OF MW, lied & owes me money. CAR IS IN SCOTTSDALE AZ. HAVE DEPOSIT @$68K Thanks!

He's selling a rare luxury car and he bashes another seller in his for sale advertisement?

MW is, of course, Michael Willhoit.

What does "HAVE DEPOSIT AT $68K" mean?

Why does he say the aerokit is undesirable? I thought it commanded a premium.

That means that he's perfectly willing to snake the first buyer (if there even is one) if you offer him $69K+ Classy. This may be the ******* ad of the year.

No HTO O... the REAL story is that this fine curb stonner, want a be car dealer with no dealers liscense, sold me this pristine, needing nothing, best of the best 96 twin turbo for alllllllllll the money(top dollar) ,BUT when it arrived here,it needed about $2,500.00 worth of mechanical work to pass the PPI !!! Upon discussion of the issues,he said "PASS" and I was on my own and the car didn't need anything !!! Then after we spent the $$$$ to bring it up to spec and our end customer and fellow Rennlister(Glenn /BERGAMASCO) who is a "GREAT" guy and customer, wanted to speak to the previous owner before the purchase.. Soooooooo after Glenn has a couple of conversations with this "FLAKE", he bills ME $500.00 for his time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. Nope, not a chance..!!! Guess I'm suppose to forget about the misreprentation of the $2,500.00 plus give him a $500.00 tip..lol !!!! You make the call !!!

Why would ANYONE on this website buy a car without a PPI first? It's only been mentioned here a million times. PPI means pre-purchase inspection. Pre-purchase means BEFORE you buy the car.

I bought mine without a PPI through Dave Maynard (who was operating as a buyer's agent) at European Locators. Not only was he familiar with the car, so was Jerry at EPE and the seller was former PCA President Tom Bobbit. I felt safe. However, I can't imagine doing so under different circumstances....although I would buy one from Dave again no questions asked.

ClaylG..you missed the point......He,(the seller to me) says I cheated him & ..owe him money in his add for for his 98 C4S($500.00), for his time talking to Glenn !!! Has nothing to do with the $2500.00 PPI we had to do..You can tell by the add he wrote, offering to sell out the guy who offered $68k and gave a deposit, what kind of guy he is..

Micheal, thanks for coming on and giving us the rest of the story. Much appreciated.

Botton line, $2,500 on a +$75,000 purchase, for a 993 Turbo is peanuts. I've always advocated buyers need to have a "slush fund" of approximately 10% to sort out the purchase of a used Porsche, so they don't have buyer remorse, and become Porsche rich and cash poor.

In the end, Glenn got a great Turbo, you made a fair profit on the transaction, and everyone is happy. Win-win.

Thanks again , for the back story.

I believe the 7,894 mile 1998 AeroKit C4S was once in SE PA and has at least the driver's door straightened and repainted from an incident on a local Porsche dealer's lot.

What is footwell lighting on the options code?
And why does it list a black top on a coupe?
Sea blue floor mats on a black interior?
Just asking...
