May need a 4 season car - how about something like this?
I love my 993 cab but may need to go with one 4 season car and the cab is just not it. How about something like this?

I do currently have a winter car but with a 17 yr old son I wont have the space for another car unless i move to just one for me (poor guy)
Any thoughts?

hmmm.
The 2008 turbo cab is a beauty. Not your typical snow sled but with a dedicated set of winter tires, and not too deep, you would be fine.
But for me, I would not drive that beauty in the snow because of the other reckless drivers in SUVs who believe that their cars can stop and turn in snow without slowing down.

Thanks but if I need 1 car for all seasons ie awd, and want to stay with a Porsche then its something like this or a C4S (not going to a cayenne....)

If it's not going to compromise the budget, sure why not? I'd ditch my C4S for something newer and use it as the ski car if I were working (or there was any hope of earning again).

You have what I call a "high class problem." You seem to have the funds for another car but lack the space. Spend the upcoming warm months enjoying the 993 cab while asking friends, RLers, PCAers and associates, if they know of anyone who would be willing to store a car from November-April. I can't imagine that it would cost you more than $50-100/mo. and would allow you to buy a more appropriate [and comfortable] car for the winter such as an Audi. I think it would be a mistake on two fronts if you swapped your 993 for a 997.

People would say I am a pimp of sorts ie an investment banker!!
I do have a friends garage where I store the 993 in the winter but the issue is more in the summer as I dont have a driveway and if my son gets a car then I would need space for 4 cars which is a bit crazy (wifes car, sons car, my 993 and 300C winter car - cant use his garage in the summer)
However, I dont need to make the decision today and there are lots of cars out there (even though that black and tan turbo IS pretty fine looking). May take the summer and if I go the one car route a C4S cab is likely a more sensible 4 season solution rather than a turbo
Thanks for the thoughts

A turbo with the right snow tires would be a great year around DD.

True, but how ofter are you really going thru 2' deep snow? You probably just wouldnt drive. My lowered Audi TT with good snows was the best car Ive driven in the snow because it was very controllable, so that negates the "too low" argument. I also drove my Cayman S which doesnt even have AWD in a couple of snow storms with good snow tires and it even did well...its all about the tires.
