Default Will a 996 jack work on a 993?

After reading the horror stories on Rennlist about the pathetic OEM 993 jack, I have decided to look for a more suitable alternative.

There are plenty of lightly used 996 jacks (996.721.711.00) around at reasonable prices like this one on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSC...item230fc1a46b.

Any reason why of these would not work?

I think the number should be 99672121100, it is listed for a 993 turbo and RS as well as all cars from 1998, dont see why it wont work on a standard 993, its a scissor jack

I believe that number is for a different jack.

The scissors jacks are used so as to clear the widebody rocker panels. Most any OEM emergency jack can fail if used improperly. When possible, always try to raise on level ground and chock the diagonally opposite wheel. It's no wonder the handle is missing on the one offered on eBay. They're terrible! Made of aluminum and can't take the torque.

My 98 993(narrow body cab) came with the same jack as the 04 Turbo. The only difference is the little button on top was pot metal and painted black on the 993 jack.
