Default suspension advice

78k miles on my '95, no suspension work whatsover so far, but it is due; going into the indy shop this summer for whatever she needs.

Roads finally clear enough that I could play a little and noticed when coming off hard throttle in 2nd and going to 3rd the car wants to dive right.

I suspect shocks and possibly motor mounts.

Anything else I should look for?

Leaving the ride height stock (what you guys call SUV) due to the nature of Alaska winter roads.

Being 16 years old, I would update shocks and springs eventhough you want to keep stock height. Start there then do motor mounts next time you need to drop motor.

Motor mounts are inexpensive and VERY easy to swap out. The first mod I did to my Porsche was replacing the leaky spongy factory mounts with WEVO style mounts and couldn't have been happier with the results.
Someone else will need to chime in on how to replace the shocks while retaining the factory ride height/firmness. I went low and stiff which sounds like a bad idea in Alaska.

Yeah, definitely needs shocks and motor mounts.

Get Bilstein shocks or even PSS-9 (or 10) and RS motor mounts.

But since your car seems to be driving so oddly, check the tires, if they're worn (can be only inside so it's not obvious) or low on pressure, it can behave like that, 993s are pretty sensitive to tire pressures.

+1 on the motor mounts and shocks.

From my experience I was very happy with Wevo blacks and the Bilstein HD MO30 setup.
If you go down this route - they are both DIY'able. Engine mounts are so simple to do - 10 minute job.
You will notice a huge difference with new engine mounts.

If you happen to go Bilstein HD struts - make sure you get another 2 locking rings to lock down the sway bar perches. DIY with Jeff's (intheair) guide - that's the best DIY I've ever used.

Lastly - factor in a good alignment and kinematic toe adjust into the whole project as well.

Good luck

Ken

Might want to check the suspension bushings and rear toe control arms too. I replaced these on my car at 100k miles.

Walrod or Elephant for the bushings

Tarett or ERP for the toe arms (might as well add the Tarett locking kit and get some rubber booties for these while you're in there.)

Thanks all for your expertise and advise.
I will let you know what I did and the results.
Guessing June or so....I need to wait for better Harley weather, as the car will be out of commission for a bit.
