New bearing for spoiler
I found this bearing at Boca Bearings. Will this work for the spoiler drive replacement? SMR625-UU

You can take a look at this thread. I used the DIY listed in the first post. I'm not sure if the bearing you listed will work. When I replaced my bearing I just bought from a local bearing house. It wasn't too expensive. https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...=spoiler+drive

Thanks.....
Thanks....I looked at the various threads and it appears the bearing I have is the right size - 5/16/5 - just in stainless Steel enclosure and seal, not a rubber seal like others have used.
This is from the website " A shield (non-contact) or seal (contact) is often installed to retain lubricant and to prevent contamination from entering the bearing raceways. These are available in a variety of materials and configurations."
Bearing Material Stainless Steel 440C
Ball Material Stainless Steel 440C
Dimension Type Metric
ID (d) 5
OD (D) 16
Width (B1) 5

This sealed bearing available through Amazon works perfectly. I've had it in for over a year now. http://www.amazon.com/VXB-625-2RS-Be.../dp/B002BBGIZC

I did a ton of research and you are right on the size. I bought the exact same bearing size and got it in stainless steel. www.pcarworkshop.com states the the bearing as
625-2RS or 625SS
16mm O/D
5 mm I/D
5 mm Width
Here is the one I bought. A little more for stainless steel, but a better bearing. Total was around $10.00.

Question please:
Mine is also noisy.
P-car workshop says remove the white plastic insert and pull out the cable to test the motor first.
Does the white insert come out easy?

It should come out pretty easy. If I remember correctly you can use a small flat screw driver or fingernail to get under the edge of the white plastic piece and carefully pry it out. Then the cable should come right out. You might have to give it a slight pull.

Rubber seal is best !!!
ok- spoke with the bearing conmpany.....
"the bearing you bought will fit fine - but for longevity purposes I
would suggest a rubber sealed bearing rather than the Ultra Sealed bearing you purchased. it is more durable to dirt, dust and debris."

From the eBay listing:
"One Stainless Steel Ball Bearing, this is a popular size that could be used in many application that uses this size 5mm x 16mm x 5mm. Bearings are made of Stainless Steel, bearings are rubber sealed from both sides to protect the bearing from dust or any possible contamination."

great thread folks! I gotta order one up just to have on hand. I bought an entire assembly-motor/gearbox/harness from a guy on Pelican as a spare also. The price was very right, so I couldn't resist.
Add the bearing replacement to the new spoiler wall "to do" list for me.
thanks again for the bearing detail/links.
