Ok, one more time...it's a virus, that's how they are designed to spread. It's not Carlo's fault nor he needs to provide an explanation as he may not even know what happened.

Be glad your antivirus caught it or you'll be giving explanations to 50 others that you could have infected otherwise.

If one signs in on a public computer or runs through an infected network, it will capture login and password with the website. It happened to me with a network and my computer is clean.

Gunter, this link doesn't have any viruses and explains what happened and how to protect yourself:

http://www.hulu.com/watch/2340/satur...live-old-glory (please see the video after the short 6 seconds commercial. It's well worth it).

Think about it, why would he do something like this to you and 50 others? Perhaps he would owe you an explanation if you were the only recipient.

Gunter, are you even reading what people are trying to tell you here? If so, do you understand that it was NOT Carlo who sent you and 70 others that email?

Gunter, I sent you a email. I wish you read the email before accusing me of maliciously sending you a virus. I would expect that a user with over 6300 posts on Pelican would understand what the word “Hacked” or how a virus works!! But what can you expect from someone who is still on dial up.

I’ve been on Rennlist for 10 years with almost 900 posts; At least wait for me to responsed to your email before you place a public post accusing me of infecting your computer.

I would expect this thread to get deleted immediately!

Thanks to all who came to my defense

Hey now, I resemble that remark.

Carlos is a good guy. Alas, Gunter is almost 70 and from the "dag nabbit" generation. They often have challenges with the new-fangled thingamabobs that us young whippersnappers are playing with on the internets.

Gunter, it's all OK. Next time you e-mail Carlos, make sure you wrap your computer in a giant condom first and all should be well.

OK, those were funny

I'm not quite as "experienced" as Gunter but I am well down that road.

Exclamation Hindsight is 20/20

Sigh…………..I am glad so many of you know so much about computers and related issues. I envy you and wish I could understand more. When I studied for ME way, way back, we worked with Slide Rulers and IBM just came out with slotted data cards. Computers were mechanical with limited functions.

Dial-up: The area where I live has no cable reception, no high-speed internet connection and Cell phones don’t work here. It’s a trade-off for living in the country.
Never received actual tainted e-mails before and I understand not to open unknown attachments. But, the e-mail from Carlo was no attachment, it was a website. Since I expected more pictures from Carlo, I clicked on it believing it might be something like Photo Bucket.
Anti-virus warning came up and I got scared and angry because I thought Carlo was mad at me for wanting more pictures.
It appears now that Carlo was a victim of some malicious action which I don’t understand. It’s not possible to delete the thread by me but I can add an explanation at the top.
As many have pointed out, Carlo is innocent and I am sorry about the whole mess and hope that he can fix the problem in his computer.
