Default RS engine mounts

Last summer when I bought the 100% original 95 993, I immediately had a few mods done including PSS 10s, M030 sways, chip, exhaust, and air intake. RS engine mounts were planned but for some reason my mechanic didn't get them put in. Being an hour away from him, it took me this long to get the car back to the shop. In addition to replacing a bunch of gaskets, spark plugs, oil return lines, etc, he also finally added the RS mounts.
Wow! The car is now exactly what I'd anticipated all along.
In stock form I was underwhelmed by the car. After the 1st set of mods I was pretty impressed, but now, what a difference! The car feels totally tight and totally linear.
Is it possible the engine mounts made as large a difference as I think, or did I just miss the car alot while it was in the shop?

Nope - you didn't miss a thing. I put engine mounts right at the top of my list for things to modify for noticing a night and day difference. Good bang for buck ratio for getting rid of those worn engine mounts for some new ones. Huge noticeable difference.

You might want to try upgrading to HID lights - makes a big difference as well. Night vision is vastly improved.

The other upgrade right at the top of the list for me was upgrading to the Wong chip. And then catbypasses for a better sound track.

Everything else was minor in terms of feed back.

Good luck
Regards
Ken

Right there with ya, I have Wevo's. If you haven't already, on the next trip to the mechanic...consider Walrod front control arm bushings. I imagine your stock bushings are cracked-get any tramlining, slight off center steering issues, etc?

Chris's bushings nail the front of the car down, like the RS mounts plant the *** end. Together, the effect is nothing short of wow!

my Indy usually stocks them...that's how good he thinks they are. I don't know his source, maybe Chris directly? My Indy is Joel Reiser, of former Reiser/Callas fame, so he has motorsport connections.

Anyway, FD has them right?

I imagine you could PM Chris Walrod directly, and he could direct you too.

Also interested in these bushings. Is this a DIY? Does it require an alignment afterwards?

TIA!!

Do a search on Walrod and there are a bunch of threads. It is a diy that is about a 5-6 on a scale of 10. I've done two so far and Chris gives an instruction sheet with them to help. You'll probably need an alignment but not necessarily if you mark the eccentric bolts on the lower a-arm first. I scribed mine lightly inside the the recess.

FD has them for ~$100, and the install directions are on their site as well.

It looks pretty involved....

Just put mine in too...me and too other people who drove it before and after said exactly the same thing..."WOW!" So did I, btw. My very favorite-ist mod! RS (or Wevo I'm sure) really make a huge difference. Enjoy.

Did you DIY? If not, how many hours of labor?

I did not do it myself because my engine was out at the indie shop anyways...but I think it's a fairly easy job if you can turn a wrench

Walrod Bushing and RS Motor and Transmission mounts are on my short list also.
The only other question I have is, what other bushing should be replaced at the same time?

Is there a DIY thread on changing mounts - I've been searching - maybe not hard enough
