My 993 Full Body Repaint
Thought you guys might like to see how my repaint is going. The entire thread can be found here:

I'm having my car painted my Ty Fuller of Excel Car Body Repair in the UK.
Here's the latest update, which shows some major progress.
Ty has painted the car and he has now flatted the whole body down. He is now compounding it to a much flatter, non-orange peel, glass like finish.
The wheel hubs on the discs are going to be finished in matt grey two pack and the rear PU supports in satin black two pack. Any rust issues should be held at bay for a while longer than normal.
The rear chassis legs have very minor surface bubbling at the end (not perfect as you suspected Dom! :wink. Ty is going to rub them down, then apply sealant and Waxoyl.
I've chosen to go for glass without a wiper, or even a hole. If I ever sell the car, which I hope I never need to, I'd leave it up to the buyer to decide if they wanted to put a wiper back on. I really want a clean look to the rear end, so I'm saying ***** to originality on this one.
After going over to Excel today, I'm amazed by the level of attention to detail and care Ty is going in to. It's great the way he is suggesting ideas to make the car as good as possible and he's really empathic towards my OCD as well......

Have detailed the reasons on the 911uk thread, first page. Essentially due to numerous stone chips, parking dings in the doors and a spot of rust around the rear screen.

Have toyed with the idea of clear protective film, but for frontal area coverage, the cost will equal a front end repaint. Also, I've learnt that taking the film off can take the paint with it where there have been major impacts, hence you need to repaint anyway! Love working with paint too, so will probably go for a front end repaint every five years or so (will cover 12k to 15k miles in that time).

It looks beautiful! I am a little biased towards Polar myself.
