Default 96 993 C4S with replaced engine?

I'm starting another thread to go along with the other one where I asked if anyone has info of this car at Inskip in RI. Apparently it has a replaced engine. I didn't look any further into it as far as was it a new crate engine, who installed it, and the reasoning why the old one "blew up" yet but I will potentially take a further look at the car. My main question is where do most of you guys stand as far as having a 993 without the "original #'s matching engine"? A few guys have said it shouldn't be big deal at all, but to me it is just a big red flag that I would have to further investigate. TIA for any help.

I would look at the complete deal: if that car is exactly what you are looking for and the price is right, the replaced engine would not be a showstopper. If the swap is well documented, that is.
