I find it somewhat counterproductive to even try to suggest anything without any knowledge of how the car will be used. Maybe the guy needs Motons. Maybe he needs M033/Monroes for NYC streets.

Having rad that the car will be "primarily a daily driver", I'd ask what's important here (comfort, handling, just lower look, etc).

So, OP owes us some 'xplaining.

I am wondering if a set of H&R springs and possibly some Bilsteins HDs would be more affordable with decent results. Any thoughts?

shop carefully
if you search, you will find that several of us think HD shocks and MO33 springs = unacceptable ride quality, but you'll also find many people that love them.

don't buy without trying.

+1 Bear in mind that tires play a huge role in comfort too, perhaps almost as much as the springs/dampers. If I'm on Bridgestone RE11's (terrible tire for track work but great for street) the ride is more than comfortable. On Michelin PS/2's it's quite rigid.

Lowering would be for both looks and roadholding.

..............and where is most of the driving done? City, thruways, pot-holed state roads? How many miles per year? If 5-6000/yr. or lower the answer may be different than for 8-10,000/yr or more? The more information the better.

Lowering the car will not lead to better roadholding. It can lead to absolutely random results, some of wchich will be borderline dangerous. That is simple and to a point and not to get involved in how suspension should be set up and why.

Unless you are interested in descriptive narrative as to what you are looking for, the best answer is don't change anything.

I have M033's and Koni FSD's and love them. The cheapest set up available if you act before March 31st to get the 20%.

^^^
A good example of why one should not be "upgrading" suspension without any thought or regard to the end results.

Budge, I agree with you, and your answer was very to the point. I was just jealous that I could not find this deal for OP
