Talking Engine shake after startup - Fixed

Hi there,

Over the last few months I have posted about my car's engine shake after startup and I am pleased to report it is now fixed. The engineer at Autofarm near Oxford in England finally traced the problem to a faulty and badly wired alarm system What was happening was that because of the faulty wiring, the DME couldnt retain the settings when the engine was turned off. Every time the car was started, it was as if the battery had been off, however because of other problems with the wiring, the DME was getting incorrect signals.

The intersting thing is that there have been quite a few posts about similar problems, I wonder if incorrect wiring is more common than suspected

I cannot speak too highly of the service I received at Autofarm, it was worth the 550 mile round trip!

Hmmm... Very impressive! Most stealers would just start replacing things.

It's because they are not Official PC Stealers - they are specialists of Porsche. One of the others (other than 9M) I would take my car had I lived closer.....

Congratulations.

So, no doubt, this cured your car's surging problem as well?

Hi there,

Yes, it has sorted the surging and all the problems that I had with the engine. However what has thrown me was this fault almost happened overnight - I had owned the car for about 6 months when it started. Thats why I didnt suspect bad wiring etc. Ok I have spent a fortune throwing parts at the car, but to be honest, most of them needed replacing, and there's a little bit of peace of mind in that. However the bank ballance - ugh!!!!!
