Anyone familiar with this 97 blk/blk C4S?
I'm on the lookout for a 993 C4S. This caught my eye. Not my first choice on exterior color, but has options I'd like (PSS9, mostly). Anyone know this car?

Thoughts on price? Most cars I've seen at this price point are lower mileage. This one has some premium baked in for the options + 60k service, new clutch, flywheel, etc.
Finally, am I nuts in actually preferring a high(er) mileage 993? Something > 50k miles? I had a Boxster in my early 20s and my mum had a 928 back in the day - I've always thought these cars are meant to be driven and occasionally red-lined. They develop problems just sitting around, and 30k miles on a ~15 yr old car just seems like very light usage.
(PS - this forum is a phenomenal resource. Many thanks to all contributers.)

low miles are a cause for concern as seals and gaskets can dry up from lack of use.
high miles can also be a cause for concern due to wear and tear on the overall car of course.
these cas can do 200k miles before a rebuild however.

Maybe a little high $$$ for the mileage but, as always, condition is king. PSS9s, new clutch, brakes, tires, and service add up to a lot of $$$ spent that the new owner won't need to.
As always, get a thorough PPI from a well known shop and offer accordingly.

+1 also I'd suggest spending an extra $150-200 for a leakdown/compression test. Gives you a great baseline to start with.

Lots of recent service, that's for sure. It has a few nice options, mileage should be of little concern. The built in radar, depending on the details...could be thousands of dollars itself. Not a bad thing to have in these cars after all.
Priced a tad high IMHO. How's the Carfax, # of owners, accident history etc...
Would be a great car at near $40K.
Good luck

I agree with John and have viewed this listing a few times over the last couple of weeks. The owner seems to be an enthusiast and the car appears to be well cared for with some desireable upgrades. IMO, $44k seems right in the ballpark - especially if there's wiggle room on the "asking".
