Default Price check 1997/1998 C2S

Gents,

I'm looking at a couple of arctic/black C2S's...want to get a quick poll on where you feel they should be priced.

the 97 has 41k miles on it...well optioned with sport seats but will need some paint due to scratches etc

The 98 is a 38k mile car...which I will be inspecting tomorrow.

Thanks for your feedback.

50k appears to be the magic number these days.... higher or lower depending on mileage and condition of course

Low to mid 40s for the 97 assuming a good PPI. The paint "damage", depending on severity, could knock it back.

Mid 40s for the 98, again assuming a good PPI.

having thought about selling mine a year ago or so (36000 miles, all records excellent condition), and exploring it a bit I think that Tim's answer is probably closer, and it may even be a bit high. Sad, we all think they are worth more when they are our own.

If the 98 is worth 50K I might sell you mine.

Based on the information you've provided, I'd say it's a toss up. I prefer the heavily optioned car with sport seats. If you went with the 97, I would do everything possible NOT to repaint; maybe Phillip at Detailers Domain in Closter can work some of his magic.

Hi. In November I paid $37,500 for a lightly optioned (even had 17" cups wheels) '98 C2S manual from Oregon (it spent part of its life in Colorado). Arctic with black. Miles a bit high at 64 k. I've had it checked out and after about $1200 in service she's in great shape. Paint a bit worn but okay for a daily driver. I plan to drive her for a few years and if we fall in long-term love I'll put more $$$ into her, i.e. refresh the paint, PSS10, wheel upgrade. I understand there were 5000 993 C2S cars made worldwide. Not sure how many were manual, let's say 4000. I'll guess not more than 3000 of them are drivable and have < 100 k miles. How many of these in a color to your liking and in America? I still see quite a few C4S available but if you desire a C2S I think you should jump on it and not look back. Realistically unless you drive it into the ground seems good chance you'll not lose more than $10 k on it in 5 or 10 years, what other cars can you say that about? Then again, everyone here probably knows all of this, especially those thinking about your fourth 993 like "993 Guy" ? Good luck!

Both are relatively 'lower mileage'. Low to mid $40's. The Sport Seats are worth some extra coin ($2k).

Thanks for the feedback guys...very helpful as it's important to get a sense of what the "market" thinks vs our own opinion.

I'm heading out in an hour to see the 98...I'll let you know where this goes.

According to Bruce Anderson they are worth $18,387.45, and to some here, they are worth $65,000. Pick a number in between.

Good luck! I'm with most everyone here as well. Lower to mid 40's would be a likely price if everything checks out OK with clean title and Carfax.

You are correct!

$65,000 - $18,387.45 = $46,612.55 /2 = $23,306.28 + $18,387.45 = $41,693.73

Mid to low $40's.
