Default Hankook Evo or Sumi HTR Z III?

I'm narrowing it down to the Hankoook Ventus V12 evo K110 or the Sumi HTR Z III. (Was also considering Yoke S Drives, but didn't find much information- anyone?) Sumis are the tried-and-true while the K110's are a relatively new model. Has anyone tried both on their 993? Also, other than all the performance parameters, which is a better looking tire on a 993?

Looking at 225/265 sizes on 18" wheels, mostly street driving with potential for occasional AX or track.

TIA

Had my Sumi's for six months, and they've been great. Best bang for the buck tire out there, IMHO.

I have Yokohama S.drives on my Miata and have been really, really happy with them. Very forgiving and excellent in the rain. I drive extremely hard on freeway on and off ramps and really pitch the car into the corners. The reviews on Tire Rack for the S.drives have been exemplary.

I have both tires currently. The sumitomos HTRZ III are very slippery when hot at the track. I would have to give the green light for the Hankook EVOS.

I have had sumi III's , two sets ...and now evo's... They are close but evo's are better...
Evo's are better in the wet and in the dry the feed back is more linear near the limit.

Another vote for the Evo's...I'm a big Hankook fan, great value. Price shop them, Discount tire had free shipping when I got my set in the summer.

I think for street use, they are every bit as good as MPSC that came on the car.

FYI,

Michelin owns Hankook tire. I think the technology transfer is higher than Sumitomo's.

Just sayin.

Good to get input on the Hankooks. I have Sumi's on my 993 (and Ferrari and Alfa ) and have been happy with them but I'll have to consider the Hankooks come time to replace them.

Thanks.

I have both of different cars. I like the look of the Sumis better, but don't think you can go wrong with either.....

I bought the Sumitomos over the Hankooks based on TRs recommendation. They said the Hankooks had better wet handling which I don't need. I believe the Sumis were a touch cheaper.

I know it's not in your list of choices. But I put Continental Extreme DW's on. Good tire and great price. Consumer Reports likes it as well.

Have a set of V12 bought end of last year, as replacement of Hankook ventus K104 (great tires). Not already drove a thousand miles with it...but I'm close to put them on the bay whatever the price to buy something else !!!! . Very slipy, car handling is not sharp any more, especially while full throttle.
I tried different pressures without changes. I'm still hoping that every more mile will improve it, but I feel like I change my '93 for a buick...
