Default Wheel studs

Folks,

I pulled (myself) the wheels off of my 993 for the first time after 7 years of ownership. I figured it was time for some cleaning.

Since I rarely drive the car and never track it I've only had the wheels off when the tires were replaced or during service. I was surprised to find studs on the hub. Is that stock or did the previous own install a stud kit?

Both my 996 GT3 and my Cayenne use lug bolts so I was surprised that the 993 would be different.

I believe Porsche used studs exclusively until the 996 model, then switched to bolts...

The 993 is a real Porsche. It has studs and of course, nuts.

Ha... That made me laugh.

So the 993's studs are pressed in from the back?

It was a cost saving move for P to go to lug bolts vs. studs and nuts. They've done to most of the 996 in other places as well -- almost all bolts
