Yes, I have family there in PA. It has not been a pretty winter there. Come on out for a track day! Warm the bones.

Hmm... I might be able to arrange a "meeting" out there if you're supplying the wheels.

I'd be more excited if you only put one or two $ signs. Besides, those GT3s might make me hate my car.

...aka as "Sierra Cement".

Our spring skiing season is just around the corner. This is where I hang out; Sunshine Village, Banff:

Commentary on the mountain the past couple of days was that this was as good as it gets here. Kid who's basically been my private snowboarding tutor all winter now didn't think we were giving up anything to UT/CO, absent them in world-class conditions. Given how tired I got yesterday afternoon boarding, I do regret not renting some powder skis.

Snow in the East Bay Hills last night - not something you see everyday

If only snow didn't bring with it the salt and gravel, I'd slap a set of 16" snowies on one of my cars and have a blast. Unfortunately the roads near my home frequently look like the top of Tony Montana's desk probably did.

Great to see you using your cars to their full extent Ken. Thanks for the pics!

Great pics!

We've got the rain here in SoCal to match. We're now the "Green State", forget "Golden". There's probably a joke there somewhere...

The parabolics have taken much of the pucker factor out of skiing powder.

We get the really dry "Champagne Powder", right into April. It's so light, you don't even know your skis are there.

Anyway, congrats to you, on taking up a new sport.

I was up there yesterday at Kirkwood, and it was amazing. Probably some of the best conditions I've seen in years. I can't remember the last time I've been able to find so much pow straight through the end of a weekend ski day (President's Day weekend to boot!) -- and they didn't even open the backside!

I've been spending most of my snow days in Colorado this year because of the lack of snowfall, but this easily matches some of my best days over there.

where was this photo taken?

My skis are whatever state-of-the-art was for '02. Parabolic, but not like the mini-snowboards that current powder skis are.

Snowboarding has come about with Sugar Bowl offering free basic rentals and group lessons on (basically) weekdays. Private lessons have come about from minimal attendance weekdays, and me being one of few showing up. So if there are five instructors and, at most, 10 students it gets really personal. And half the days I'm the only one showing up at all! Gonna have a big tip for the kid at the end of the season, part of which is some seat time at the track where I can instruct him.

I think this week will be one talked about fondly for years.
