Is this upgrade really as good as I think it is?

*For those of you unaware of carnewal, its an AMAZING site and P93 is code for 993.

I still have the bypass installed. I'm not sure if it's going to stay in.
Pros:
- minor less weight
- Much more room around the engine to work on it
Cons:
- After-run fan which supposedly cools the engine is gone. Does this really cool?
- The climate controls require more extreme temperature settings to make any difference in the cabin.

My ac works great, but the heater has less oomph in air blowing out. However it still heats fast and warms the car very very well.
I do love the cleaner look and there has to be a benefit of letting the heat escape from that side of the engine. Plus the bonus of easier to work on that side. I'm trying to figure out how to eliminate my air box cover to free up more space.

I would recommend cutting the side of the bypass to fit the temperature sensor. You also need the 964 top of the fan rubber piece to fit the tube on a 993.
here is a pic of the installation I found on the net for reference.

Ditto.
I sold mine back (Fabspeed carbon fiber) becuase it did not fit very well.
The top part was a nightmare to get it to stay put in the shroud, the lip was not big enough to let the shroud catch on to it. YMMV of course. Too bad because I really liked the uncluttered look and better access to the left side of the engine. Weight savings are very small.
