Default Mid Rise -It's here

Dropped it in the hole late this afternoon. Backed the little utility trailer right up to the opening in the floor, slid it off the pallet and nosed it down. We then put a sling around the back of the lift with a couple guys holding it up...and drove the trailer out from under it.

It was in the hole before half the help arrived, very smooth.

Going to dinner with the family tonite, so I'll finish assembly and test tomorrow.

Looks like a very nice lift, and the recess in the slab is gonna make it a breeze to use.

More pics to follow...gotta go eat and drink.

That's awesome. Very nice. Congrats!

How did you manage to do the recess in the slab?

One day, this is the exact set up I would like to do.
How deep did you recess it?
More pics would be awesome!
I am excited for you.
I have to result to the jack stands.

Do you have a cover or a plate to slide over it when not in use?

the slab was poured in two section's. The gracious recessed portion poured first, then the rest of the slab poured over top defining the exact opening. Picture of first pour attached, showing depth below existing slab as well as outline of second pour.

It's somewhere around 5" deep. The actual height in the full down position, varies between different mid-rise lifts. At the time the recess was made, I was still deciding between two different lifts, witrh two different dimensions. I went with the largest of the two in every dimension-length, width, and depth.

Hadn't really thought of that. I believe that the lifting arms, are gonna project out from the recess, as well as stick above it a little. I'll know for sure after the install is complete. The C4S is JUST wider than the recessed area, other vehicles with wider tracks even more.

As it sits right now, without the lifting arms attached...it is below the elevation of the finished floor. It would be pretty cool to be able to put a cover over it when not in use.

In the summer months, the mower will be in the space. In the winter months, the C4S will be there. Covering the lift shouldn't be an issue, but could be a help regarding housekeeping issues there.

Nice installation. Maybe I should forward the pics to my wife as gift suggestions.

KBell - Are those flat top jack stands? If no, where are they positioned on the 993? I need to buy jack stands, but thought only flat top ones would work on a 993. Sorry - slight hijack of thread.

You'll love it. My Bendpak is the best tool I've ever purchased. I have 2X4 ramps I drive the '84 up on, and that works too. They slide out of the way when I get into serious work.

You'll want S/S plates under the rollers, they will wear grooves in the concrete.

I actually have some 1/4" thick alu plates for the roller travel. I wanted stainless, but was too pricey, and steel too ugly. I'm kinda leaning toward not installing them for now-although a simple task. The lift will simply not be used frequently enough to warrant I believe.

I just glanced at the installation manual-real P.O.S. Conflicting info from the website, gonna have to read the nameplate on the motor tomorrow. Elec specs say 1hp(746w) motor in one place, and 2.2KW in another..quite a difference between 7a and 20 amps huh?

If a lousy Installation and Service Manual are the worst of it, it's all good.

I've actually got 14 gauge (.075") S/S strips, which you can see in my pic. They are plenty thick enough, and have not deformed. The gouging will happen soon enough, and all you have to do is slide them underneat?

A piece of 3/4" plywood would do the job. Considering the size of the hole, 1/2" might even be stiff enough.

As for the arms, if you don't use the lift that often, install them as needed.

ble2011, the front jack stands are flat.
The rear are not flat. The rear stands are from SEARS.
No problems in 12 years of use.
However, I long for the day to have a set up like MAGDADDY.
Jacking these 993s up is always a nerve racking experiance.

Mag + Ed....so the rollers are on SS plates. How about the other end? Is it secured to the floor in any way?
