Found after removing seat - Special Porsche Factory tool?
I found this 6mm hex drive socket under the wiring harness under the passenger seat.
Any ideas what it might be?
I'm thinking it may be a special assembly tool, or an adjustment socket of some type. It is not common to us.
My master Audi mechanic has never seen one quite like this before. The way the blade end is made it appears specific to an application/purpose.
Very well made and heavy for it's size.
I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Porsche makes their own assembly tools. This would seem to be one of those.
The way a 6mm hex wrench fits with precision, and the quality of the chrome does not lend itself to be of Chinese manufacture.
Trivial I know, but interesting nonetheless.

Which actually could be the start of a new thread - Have you found anything interesting while detailing a new to you car? Money, drugs, jewelery? Yes, I think I'll start that...

I have one of those laying in the toolbox too. No idea where it came from or what it is for, lol.
Definitely not listed in the special tools catalog.

Interesting find. The PO of my Cab had to be a pimp. I found countless business cards for different strip clubs in the Miami area with hand written phone numbers on the backs.

The tool? not sure. Under the seat? A receipt for a Tony Bennett cassette tape from 2001 and an old cigarette lighter. I can only use my imagination as to what the guy (or girl?) looked like who first owned the car.
Sadly, no drugs!

Wasn't 993BillW the PO. He's a slippery one. I did find $800.00 in 100 dollar bills in an 87 Targa I bought at auction about 5 years ago. It was in an envelope under the spare tire and had been wet many times. The envelope had rust stains on it, but the money was good. Had a great weekend!

No, 993BillW wasn't the PO. I bought my car before I knew of Rennlist. Found it through classifieds. Sent it to The Collection for PPI. I actually never met the owner, just talked to him on the phone. But he sounded a lot like this guy looks...

I found a hand under my driver seat, ok it was one of those wooden artist model hand but it did give me a bit of a start. If I ever sell my car I think I will put a plastic skull or eyeball under the seat give the guy a real story
