I can understand a "key turner" not knowing where his spare is, but people like you and me who have worked on aircraft usually love all things mechanical. They know what a box-end wrench is and might even have a lathe and mill at home. When I wasn't instructing, I was pulling an engine or rigging control surfaces, or bucking rivets, etc.
Considering how little time you've had to drive it, I can see not ever having the time to check under the carpet.
What I'm curious to know is when the damage occurred. Who of the POs/dealers knew about it?
As for CARFAX, my opinion on those services remains low.

AMEN. Not trying to stir the pot, but people are acting like he should pay them to take the car off his hands. I flip cars on occasion and let me tell you this just about every car that is 5 years or older at the auction has had paint work. Clean Carfax or not I meter every car most have been shot sometime in their life. Even Porsches. He is laying it all out there and taking the high road. You have great car. Does the damage present a concern? Yes. Does it deserve the bashing it has received? No.

I don't think it is about the part that has been fixed. It is about the part that hasn't.

You just don't quit do you MAKMOV.... Go sell a used car and do us all a favor...
I think this topic of Car-Fax is dead. This got way off target...We get the point, you seem to know it all...

I said it was a nice car, unique color, there some things I really like about it. The wheels, the matching color hardback seats.
I never implied or said anything remotely that it was a piece of junk, not worth the metal it was made out of or anything of that nature.
I did say it has structual damage to it, that can be fixed. It's clearly not beyond repairing.
What's the issue. Or should we just all smile and dance in the streets?

I think Mike's point was that it has been said. And you have agreed.
Motion to close this part of the discussion.
