Smile 993 Big Red Slotted front rotors...

these are bolt in replacements. I have a pal selling these....I am thinking about a set. My current factory rotors are getting tired.

Anybody else interested? Shoot me a PM. The cost will be approximately $250 a rotor, more than stock OEM Big Red rotors, but should last longer and not get fouled up with brake dust.

Default Slotted Rotors

At the rate my C4S goes through the standard Porsche rotors I would go broke at $250 each---unless the life were doubled. This, I feel, is improbable.

Smile On a Carrera...

wonder why you are eating rotors. The Carrera 4S isn't that much heavier than a Carrera narrow body....maybe it's the pads you are using. Mine seem to last at least a year on the front. I use Pagid Orange or Yellow front, Pagid Black rear. My car is 99% track...I do about 7 or 8 events a year.

I know these rotors ain't cheap, but I am going to try them out anyway. My present factory rotor vent holes are clogged up after about one (1) run session.

Last time I priced Big Red front rotors, they were about $175 a pop...these are about $250.

Like Martin says............why? I've still got the rotors that came with the yellow car, and those certainly weren't fresh when I bought it. OE units.

Well, for one reason it's nice not to have to clean the rotor holes on the OEM units

Hey martin, Interested in some details? What are the Hats made of (aluminum or steel) Who makes the rings? Are they coleman rings? The price is pretty good if they are a decent quality slotted option.

At the moment I am looking at the Giro slotted option and feel comfortable with their price at around $1000 for the pair.

I run Pagid Black pads (more agressive than Yellow or orange) and run around 30 track days a year and go through a set of rotors every 18 months or so...

list price for factory big red rotors is $259 although you can get them for about $212 each.

not a bad price for the slotted alternative if the quality is good.

that doesn't sound right.. i'm pretty sure dealer list is north of $350.. sunset sells them for $295, and they are usually 20% below list.. pelican has them for $309..

if I'm wrong., I would really like to know where to get them for $212..

part # is 993-351-045-10 , unless we are talking about rears, those are about $200...

last time I bought 993tt front rotors they were $414/pair. That was 8/09.

I've given up on them as they crack out before they wear out.
I've switched to these, same 322x32 size but w/ al. floating hats

If you are wearing out (thickness) your rotors before they crack, slotted will offer no advantage, only additional weight.

I just wish someone made slotted standard (black) rotors.... CMP, my home track, is very hard on brakes.... lots of heat/cool cycles every lap... I only get 3-4 weekends out of a set before they crack to the edge.

I just looked at my Sunset invoice from when I did the 993tt brake conversion on my 951 last year. I paid $194 each for the two piece fronts...

Check out porscheoemparts.com. They are listed at $212 each for the fronts. I haven't found them cheaper than this.
