356 Outlaw. I plan to build one with my son some day. You konw, he old-hot-rod-in-the-garage-project-with-the-teenager thing. He's 6 now.

This is kind of OT but I am hoping to some day upgrade from my current 944 N/A to a 993, Cayman, or 996 GT3.

First generation 997 GT3.

Black, of course.

Bruce,
LOVE the outlaw picture.
And I should very soon have a picture just like in your signature of the odometer....except with a '1' in front of it...

I find myself driving one of these more than my 993 these days... 997 C2S weather permitting - Cayenne S otherwise

Craig-- Awesome stable!!! I love the red 'S' on the 997... Every so often I feel a real urge to get a 997 Cab... Problem is no more garage space and the 993 would have to go...

Thanks Rome, I find myself intoxicated with the 997 C2S. I know the garage space problem all too well... 5 vehicles and olny 3 spaces

Funny that I've owned/built/maintained pretty much everything you guys mention as far as pre 993s go. You'd be sadly disappointed with all but the most expensive, highly developed earlier cars. Great as 3D art, not so great as drivers. (Unless your idea of driving is generic sedan pace.) Life has evolved. I suppose you could say the same about 993s, but absent the air cooled based water cooleds in the mix I'd just be waiting for something seriously bad to happen that I don't have the interest in repairing.

To (not) answer the question, I'm a 993 lifer. What else is out there with similar performance for ~$30K? A Corvette? Not getting one of those up to Sugar Bowl for skiing.

A triple black, 6 speed, 997, C2S cabriolet. Throw in some aluminum interior bits, hard back seats, red belts, fister mufflers, coil-overs and some 19" Champion wheels.

Quick Reply: What Porsche would you replace your 993 with?
