this bridge look familiar? i'm in charleston at least a couple times a year. i used to live down there and my sister still does....out on daniel island. my parents still keep a place on the intercoastal in west ashley.

I can't tell you exactly how many miles this winter, but I can say that it gets driven almost every day...either my wife or I use it as a DD...even through the snow storms we've had here in NC.

Oh, and with normal summer tires....it SUCKS in the snow!
We drove out to Nashville a couple weekends ago to visit the PCA region. I checked the weather: Charlotte, Asheville, Knoxville, Nashville. All said clear skies. What I wasn't able to check, was the mountain pass between Asheville and Knoxville.....
We got caught in a hell of a snowstorm for about 40 miles on the winding, twisty part of I-40 in the mountains. So bad, that all the traffic was crawling along at 25-30 mph, one lane, NO tire tracks - all ice and snow. Thank god too, I could feel constant slip at every winding turn.
and yes...they use salt here...
