For that kind of $$ you can take your car to Protomotive and have a twin turbo with 500 ponies. The conversion with Pauter rods, beefed up internal, etc used to run 32K.

And you would know that it had been done right.

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN. Although my engine has only 8K miles on it, I have had NO problems except recognition by OBII. I sent my ECU to Todd & he re-flashed. Total cost to me was $35, which was shipping to Todd at Protomotive. He actually paid for the return shipping. My Hurricane PCA members LOVE the sound. Many who know wonder if I've stuffed a V8 in the rear. AND, it is slightly quick. I'm badged as a C4S, which is how the car began.

Judging by the build sheet and exhaust, I belive it was built by Bob Holcomb;
Who I would put at the highest tier of Porsche motorsport builders in this country.

Not the same type of motor as a Protomotive street rod IMHO.

Never used MS road&race but have friends that have for OEM motorsport parts.

ETA: No affiliation with the seller, but to build a motor up from a GT3 case using those parts isn't
cheap.

To build up any flat six, to any level of performance, isn't cheap. I've got almost 2/3 of my 993 under the back bonnet of my 911. My labor too.

^ Yup, a proper RSR build is a very expensive endeavour.

Add another $10k to this motor for induction/ITBs/injectors and appropriate engine management.

A few years back I bought a crated PMS 993RSR long block from a race team in GA. No exhaust or throttle bodies/mngt but otherwise ready to go. That motor was 385hp at the fly wheel. They were asking $25-27ish and I paid 18-19K. Todayyou can buy a water cooled cup motor freshened for 20K or less. For $38 they should include a race car

My uncle bought a motor for his jeep cherokee that only cost $1,600. For $38k they should get a race car and a house.

I think they always have some cool stuff for sale but it is always overpriced IMO.
