Okay, I realize that I can't have it all, but, I really like cars and looking at nice cars. So, the thought process goes, if I can't afford to buy all the cars I want, how about buying miniatures so I can look at them and drool and dream. If I had unlimited funds, I would have so many cars that I couldn't possibly drive them all and I would most likely fall into the habit of driving just one or two and looking at the rest.
So, group mind, where can I get good examples of models of the cars I dream about?
Be very careful! While not taking up as much room, it can become almost as slippery a slope as the full scale stuff. We've got a big showcase full of favorites and a huge closet stacked to the ceiling in plastic storage boxes. Posters are another habit. Have run out of wall space. Big boxes full of tubes with posters inside. Then there are the NOS parts in the attic and garage. Help! I need an intervention!
UT Models used to make decent diecast models of our 993s until they went out of business a few years ago. You can still find them on EBay but their values seem to be spiking up for some odd reason.
I love the UT stuff but the prices are crack smoke these days! I got most of mine for normal prices and the most I paid was $75 for the GT2 without the box. I am not interested in having the boxes so I try to buy them used/already displayed.
Yellow Turbo S
Arena Red Turbo
Silver GT2
Green Carrera

Couldn't agree more. I got well over 200 now and they are all residing in the attic. When I moved I put everything back in the original boxes. It took forever. They won't be coming out anytime soon that's for sure.
